How To Delete All Your Social Media Accounts

For some, being active on social media is a way of life. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, the list of sites goes on. Sometimes, social networks decrease in popularity or you don’t want to use them anymore. At this time you may consider deactivating your accounts. Continue reading to learn how to delete all your social media accounts. 

*Note: You may want to download your social media profile data, photos, videos, and more before deleting your account. All of the below directions must be completed on a mobile or computer browser, unless otherwise specified. 

Facebook

How To Deactivate or Delete Your Facebook Account

    • Click on the dropdown arrow, ▼, on the top right. 
    • Tap on Settings → Your Facebook Information on the left hand side. 
    • In the row that says Deactivation and Deletion, select View. 
    • Depending on what you would like to do, select Deactivate Account or Permanently Delete Account, then Continue

 

Twitter

How To Deactivate Your Twitter Account

    • Tap on Settings and privacy.
    • Select the Account tab, then click on Deactivate your account
    • To officially remove your account, click on Deactivate

 

Instagram

How To Disable Your Instagram Account

    • Go to https://www.instagram.com/ on your mobile or computer browser, and log into your account. 
    • Navigate to your profile and select Edit Profile
    • Scroll down and select Temporarily disable my account
    • Detail why you are disabling your account and enter your account password.
    • Click on Temporarily Disable Account.

*Note: Your accounts will be permanently deleted after 30-days. 
 

YouTube

How To Delete or Hide Your YouTube Channel

    • On your computer, go to YouTube and make sure you are signed into your account. 
    • On the top right, click on your profile picture and select Settings
    • Tap on Advances Settings.
    • Select Delete Channel.
    • You will have the choice to Delete Channel or I want to hide my channel.

 

Pinterest

How To Delete Your Pinterest Account

    • On the top right corner, click on the down arrow (), and select Settings
    • Click on Account Settings
    • Scroll down, and next to Delete your account and account data tap Close account.
    • Tell Pinterest why you are deleting your account and select Send Email
    • Go to your email account and find the Pinterest email to confirm your account cancellation.

How To Deactivate Your Pinterest Account

    • On the top right corner, click on the down arrow (), and select Settings
    • Click on Account Settings
    • Scroll down, and next to Hide your pins and profile, select tap Deactivate account.
    • Tell Pinterest why you are deactivating your account. 

 

LinkedIn

    • On the upper right corner, tap on your profile icon and click on Settings & Privacy.
    • Tap on the Account tab and click on Closing your LinkedIn account.
    • Tell LinkedIn why you are closing your account and select Next
    • Enter your password and tap on Close account.

 

TikTok

    • Open the TikTok app on your device. 
    • On the bottom right, click on the profile icon that says “Me”. 
    • On the upper left hand corner, click on the ፧ icon. 
    • Click on Manage my accountDelete account

 

Reddit

How To Delete Your Reddit Account

    • Click on your profile icon in the upper right corner and tap on User Settings.
    • Under the Account tab, scroll down and select Deactivate Account
    • Follow the prompts to deactivate your account. 

 

Tumblr

How To Delete Your Tumblr Account

    • Tap on the profile icon on the upper right corner and select Settings
    • Scroll down and select the Delete account button. 

 

These are the various ways you can delete and/or deactivate your social media accounts. Remember, please make sure to download any information you want to save from your profiles.
